I heard about this study yesterday so I searched the internet for the article. Lately I’ve been hearing more and more that sleep is a determining factor in weight gain and loss. In the past 10 years or so I have averaged 5-6 hours of sleep per night, which looking back was probably not the best thing to do. I’m starting to wonder if perhaps my sleep, or lack there of, contributed to my weight gain…. it’s food for thought so to speak. I think that everyone can agree that you need to get at least 7-8 hours of sound sleep when your working out to lose weight, but maybe we can stay fitter by sleeping 7-8 hours even when we get into the maintenance phase.
